Whether you find an original or pick up a reissue, this pedal is a real treat to play through. We could never understand why this was never a hugely popular pedal because to our ears it's nothing short of shunning. Our only guess it that it may have something to do with its' inherent knack for subtlety. The chorus isn't overbearing, yet at the same time it is ultra-rich and very smooth. The liquid-like texture of the MXR Chorus mixes so effortlessly your signal that you don't even really noticed you're playing with chorus until you turn it off. It doubles and thickens your sound without applying that digitized sheen that most modern pedals impart on your signal. Stack this next to row of newer chorus pedals and even a few older ones and you'll pick this one out blindfolded. It's that good. |
